Shelter

Life without storms is impossible. They say, “stop fearing from storm, build your inner shelter”. It’s not easy as it sounds. When storm hits hard, you find yourself helpless, you need person/people who can lift you and say “it’s just a storm, fight it I will be with you”.

A unexpected storm arrived in life. Feelings rushed like bulls in Spanish bull run. And the storm had 3 stages. The First stage run followed by helplessness and the last was de-stress.

As soon as the information was received about the storm the first thing to do was RUN. She had to vacate the place due to many reasons. Firstly run from her friends room to PG. As soon as the landlord knew about the storm following his tenant a due time was set to empty the cottage. Hope was the only ray of light through window, but the window was closed by a curtain. As time passed she moved from stage one to stage two. She felt so helpless, fearful, loneliness, anger, anxiety all was thrown out in the form of tears. The curtain was fluttering and ray of light peeped in, a hand offering help without a second thought.

It was so uncomfortable to hold the hand and accept the offering as the third person was barely known. There was no choice left. The day she held his hand and walked along the third stage began. It was so relaxing to have a place where there was no worries at all. It was beyond imagination. He looked after her like a mother, he comforted her like a friend, he treated her like a baby. Beginning it was “2 weeks”, later it was “2 weeks”, both had lot of difference.

Morning began with cup of coffee extra added love, breakfast wasn’t special but was made special with nonsense chitchats. Even though he was busy all day, just a thought of her being alone made him stay and cancel most of his plans. She wasn’t bored around him; doesn’t mean they were productive or creative. The unusual chats, the pj’s, there wasn’t any limit. As days passed they got so close and attached to each other. The third person was changed into beyond friend with no time.

Never imagined that within 14 days a guy would become so close, neither did he I guess. Still can’t forget the night he sang a song whose lyrics was so deep, more over him saying, “I meant it”. It really meant a lot. She found a person who not only said her the golden words “it’s just a storm, fight it I will be with you”, but also sheltered her, stood along with her and fought it with her. He wanted her to stay but it was time for her to leave. “Can’t you cancel the booked ticket?” “I guess it’s too late”.
